How to Start a Mastermind Group

HI (1).png

Today I'm here to talk to you about how you should start a mastermind group. Now this is quite controversial, because I've been part of several mastermind groups and had varying experiences.

Before you start a mastermind group, I want you to sit down and think about what it is that you want to get out of this group and how you want to support the members.

Be very clear when you are bringing people into your mastermind group on what it is that they can expect. A mastermind can mean different things to different people.

I learned this the hard way, so I want you to make sure when people are coming into your group that you're making it clear what they will receive, how much support they will get, and what sort of interaction is required with other members.

You need to set the tone of the group. If you have a very relaxed outlook, you will have a very relaxed group and very mixed results.

I also want you to think about the timeframe that these people are going to be in the mastermind, because that is very important as well. Most masterminds are about a year long and that, for some people, can be a very long time.

Think about being married to your partner for a year. I know when I got to one year, I was like, "whew, we made it.”  It’s the same with your group. Mastermind relationships are very intimate relationships.

A group is an investment, so I want you to make sure you're serious about going into this mastermind before you start.

Now, if all of these boxes are ticked, I'm very excited for your. Creating a mastermind is a fantastic opportunity to really up level everyone in the group.

I look forward to seeing your mastermind out there. Remember, you can always pop me an email at to let me know how you're getting on and whether you need any help creating it. I’m here to support you.
